Aldershot Farnham and District made it sixth successive women’s 6 stage titles in dominant fashion, with Emelia Gorecka setting out the stalls on the first lap, clocking 29:53 – the fastest women’s long stage on the day. The AFD team finished in 2:13:49, with Bristol and West finishing runners up in 2:16:44 after a long battle with Swansea Harriers who finished third in 2:17:01.
Steve Cram coached Laura Weightman ran the fastest short lap of the day, with 16:44.
The lead in the men’s race changed continuously over the early laps until Morpeth Harriers made a decisive break on lap 3. They briefly looked as if they could have been caught until Ian Hudspith converted a 28 second lead into a 2 minute gap on the penultimate stage. Richard Morrell then had time to run his hands along those of the spectators as he anchored the team home with 4:21:52 – 1:14 ahead of Notts AC, with Leeds City AC in third.
It was Notts AC’s Sam Mitchell that recorded the fastest short lap with 15:01 whilst Shaftesbury’s Michael Callegari clocked the fastest long lap with 26:41.

European Cross Country champion Gemma Steel took her second victory at the event in the last three years, winning the 10km event ahead of Ireland’s Fionnuala Britton in 33:03 to Britton’s 33:07.

Lily Partridge smashed her 10,000m personal best to finish third with 32:20.77.

Steph Twell got the better of her GB&NI team mates with a decisive victory over Aly Dixon and Helen Clitheroe.
Twell’s time of 32:49 was 48 seconds clear of Dixon’s 33:37 with Clitheroe taking third in 34:10.
Morpeth’s Jonny Taylor went top of the 10km rankings with a time of 29:13 to win the men’s event ahead of Adam Hickey (29:18) and Callum Hawkins (29:21).
