Big 12 Indoor Championships, Ames, USA, 27-28th Feb 2015.

Basilidons Kaylee Dodd achieved third in the 800m final in a time of 1:07.67.

Both George Caddick (men’s 400m) and Abbie Hetherington (women’s 1000m) managed fourth in times of 46.94 and 2:49.19 respectively.

Sam Watts was fifth in the 200m in a time of 21.10 and Zac Randall managed seventh in the 800m final in 1:51.58 while Enfield’s and Haringey’s Ama Pipi finished eighth in the women’s 400m final in 54.77. She also clocked a time of 24.31 in the 200m heats.

Janisha Thomas escalated to tenth in the UK rankings with a leap of 5.97m in the long jump, a new PB, which was enough to finish sixth.

Sharjah Open International Athletics Meeting – 27-28 Feb 2015.

On day 1 Maria Lyle managed to extend her winning run in the T35/36/44 100m with a time of 14.45. Graeme Ballard also started with a win in the T35/36/38 100m in 11.99.

Hannah Cockroft managed to finish overall first in the T34 category and managed fourth in the 400m race against T53/54 classes. She then went on to win the T33/34/51 100m in a time of 17.56. Kylie Grimes was third but was the first T51 to cross the line.

Lewis Clow also took victory in the T37 100m and Holly Neil finished second in the F40/41 shot put.

On day 2 Joanna Butterfield broke another world record in the F51-55 discus achieving 8.84m.

Hannah Cockroft was the first T34 to cross the line in the combined 200m and 800m (T34/53/54). The times clocked were 33.13 and 2:09.96 respectively. 

Maria Lyle managed a 30.55 in the T35/38 200m while Hollie Neil produced a throw of 22.65 in the F41 category, her second best throw of her career.

In the F12/20/36/37 Bev Jones won the discus with a throw of 25.86m.

Ben Rowlings took third place in the T34 800m clocking 1:50.43 and also managed fourth in the 200m.

In the combined T51/52 200m, Steve Osborne was fourth overall and second T51 to cross the line. Magan Dawson-Farrell was fourth and fifth in the 200m and 800m respectively.

England Age Group Championships, Sheffield, 28 Feb – 1st March 2015.

In the U20’s Laviavai Nielsen managed to win the women’s 400m final and doing so recording a championship record of 53.39. She was perused by Lina Nielsen who came second in 54.48 with Catherine Reid third clocking a time of 54.86.

Okie Edoburun managed to win the U20 men’s 60m and equal his PB of 6.69, Reuben Arthur came second in 6.76, Oliver Bromby third in 6.79. In the women’s event Darryl Neita was the stand out winner clocking a PB of 7.32, which left a close battle for second and third in which Shannon Malone grabbed silver in 7.47 followed by Kristie Edwards who recorded a new PB, clocking 7.49 to claim third. Edwards also went on to win the 200m race on day 2 in a time of 24.14.

In the U15 girls 800m race Hallamshires Tilly Simpson took gold and in doing so beating her own age group national record and lowering the championship record by more than 3 seconds by clocking a time of 2:09.11.

The highlights on day 2 came in the U17 200m when Toby Harries won in a time 21.46, beating the previous U17 UK indoor best. Adam Hague also won gold in the U20 pole vault by clearing a height of 5.30m.

Jacob Fincham-Dukes won the U20 men’s long jump with a distance of 7.60m while Tommy Ramdhan took the U20 men’s 200m in 21.25. In the U20 1500m James West just pipped Robbie Fotzgibbon to win in a time of 3:51.79 against second which was clocked at 3:52.24.

In the field events, the women’s U20 long jump winner was Emily Wright ahieving a new PB of 6.03m. Abigail Roberts won the pole vault clearing 3.90m.

In the U17, 60m was won by Jona Efoloko in a time of 6.85 with Dominic Ashwell and Toby Harries coming second and third with times of 6.88 and 6.93 respectively. Scot Ben Greenwood also smashed the U17 UK 800m record in a time of 1:56.62.

Molly Barnett Open and British Athletics Winter Race Walking Challenge Final, University of Warwick, Coventry, 1st March 2015.

The British race walking record was smashed by Tonbridge AC’s Tom Bosworth, the long standing UK 10km record previously held by Chris Maddock was beat by 41 seconds in testing conditions. Behind him was junior Callum Wilkinson who recorded a new PB of 44:15.

In the women’s 10km race Bristol-based Tatyana Gabelon took the title with a new PB of 46:24, finishing over a minute ahead of second placed Heather Lewis and third place was taken by Beth Davies.

Reigning Commonwealth 20km champion Jo Atkinson was disqualified in the 5km event which meant Emma Achurch went on to claim the win in 23:29, in which moves her into fourth place on the UK junior all-time list. In the U17 races, Sophie Lewis Ward took first, clocking a new PB time of 24:54 in the girl’s race and Chris Snook took the boys race in a time of 24:51, which was also a new PB.

World’s Best 10k, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 1st March 2015.

European cross country champion Gemma Steel competed for the first time since the 10th January, managing to finish 5th in a time of 32:52.

Bath Half Marathon, 1st March 2015.

Paul Martelletti managed to achieve his fourth half marathon victory in five weeks. He managed to win by 14 seconds clear of second place in a time of 1:05:28.
