Mountain running international athlete Andrew Douglas once again looks to lead Inverclyde to victory in the Lindsays’ Scottish Athletics National Cross Country Relay Championships, as they look to retain their title from last year in Cumbernauld on Saturday.
You’ll be able to catch on-demand footage of the event here on our website and on Runnerspace in North America on Sunday. Each race will be run over four legs, with the twists and turns of cross country set to add their fair share of drama and excitement.
Runners up Aberdeen will therefore look to mount another serious threat to Inverclyde’s crown after finishing strongly last year through the likes of James Hoad and Michael Ferguson, who are both set to run for Aberdeen.
Central AC and Shettleston Harriers may also provide a threat, with quality individuals such as Scottish national runner-up Lachlan Oates.

European and Commonwealth medalist Jake Wightman also features for Edinburgh AC, a club which also has a chance of gold in the women’s race, after finishing third behind Edinburgh University Hare and Hounds and Central AC last year.
Both are without their standout performers Mhairi MacLennan and Morag MacLarty this year, with Edinburgh youngster and Scottish Under 17 champion Eloise Walker adding another strong element to the club after winning with the young team last year.
Champions Edinburgh Hare and Hounds however still have Scottish national runner-up Stephanie Pennycook (below), giving them the impetus to go on and retain their title.
Meanwhile the young athlete races sees under-13, under-15 and under-17s join up, with a runner from each age group combining together to make up teams.

Giffnock enter as defending champions and have under-17 Hamish Armitt available again, the former national champion having not raced for almost a year.
Victory Park City of Glasgow will be in determined mood after coming close to gold last year, while it could be another close fight for bronze as Fife look to once again come away with a medal.
