After a social media campaign TV appeal on BBC’s Crimewatch on Monday, the Commonwealth champion was elated to announce today that her gold medal for the 2006 Melbourne heptathlon had been found in a postbox on Tuesday.
After her appeal Sotherton was overwhelmed with support on Twitter as fans bombarded her with more than 2,500 messages less in less than a day.
Sotherton took to Twitter today to share her relief and thanks, she said:

After her victory in 2006 at the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, Sotherton retired in 2012 in approach the to 2012 London Olympics due to an injury.
