Usain Bolt has dismissed claims that he’s “not really” enjoying this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
An article on The Times, written by reporter Katie Gibbons, claimed the Jamaican sprint star said the Games were “a bit s**t” and that the 2012 London Olympics were “better”.
Waking up to Gibbons’ absurd claims this morning, Bolt tweeted: “I’m waking up to this nonsense..journalist please don’t create lies to make headlines.”
The Times have since stood by the supposedly verbatim quotes included in their article, despite the Jamaican’s agent, Ricky Simms, and Bolt himself rubbishing the website’s accusations.
The world 100m and 200m world record holder has since posted pictures on twitter while supporting the Jamaican netball team in their contest against New Zealand:

When questioned about his Commonwealth Games experience as he was leaving the SECC Precinct, Bolt described it as “awesome,” further discrediting Gibbons’ previous claims.

The Jamaican, who opted out of any individual events at the Games due to foot surgery and a hamstring injury which delayed his start to the season, will make his Commonwealth debut in the 4x100m relay later this week.
