The high hurdles bronze medalist at the 2011 World Championships has been left devastated after being burgled whilst at his mother’s funeral on 7 November 2013. The burglary happened in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.
The Olympian turned to twitter to appeal for help, tweeting “whilst at the function we were burgled and everything was stolen including my car, laptop, phone plus loads of other stuff.”
The hurdler added that he “can’t believe these people could do this on a day like today, please help catch them.”
Turner’s 58-year-old mother, Yvonne, passed away on 29 October.
In addition to taking the 110m hurdle bronze medal at the 2011 World Championships, Turner also won the European and Commonwealth titles in 2010.
Before committing to track and field, Turner played for Notts County football club as a youngster and was also offered a trial as a rugby player.
UPDATE
Turner’s car has now been found, however the remainder of the stolen possessions are still yet to be discovered.
