Nick Willis and Jo Pavey headline BMC Loughborough line-up

Two-time Olympic medalist and Commonwealth Games winner Nick Willis (below), and 2014 European champion Jo Pavey are some of the star names entered for the British Milers Club (BMC) Grand Prix in Loughborough this Saturday.

The 35-year-old New Zealander, who won silver at Beijing 2008 and bronze at Rio 2016, is expected to line up in the Men’s A Race, where he will come up against an athlete two decades his junior in the shape of 15-year-old Max Burgin, who set a world age best of 1:47.50 over two laps last month.

Others in that field include 2010 European silver medalist Michael Rimmer, European under-23 runner-up Daniel Rowden, Jamie Williamson who became the England under-23 1500m champion last weekend and BUCS silver medalist Canaan Solomon.

The event will be streamed live on this page of runjumpthrow.com with the action starting at 5pm local time. In North America, you’ll be able to view the Grand Prix on Runnerspace.

Notable entries in the women’s 800m include the reigning European bronze medalist Lovisa Lindh of Sweden, 2012 European Champion Lynsey Sharp and rising talent Khahisa Mhlanga, who won the under-20 title over the continent last summer.

IAAF World Championship London 2017 semi-finalist Jessica Judd (below) is down for the women’s 1500m. Judd set a new personal best of 4:03 in London last year and has run 4:08 in 2018. She’ll be up against the likes of Claire Duck, Kate Avery, Stephie Pennycook and British Universities’ (BUCS) indoor 3000m champion Emily Hosker-Thornhill.

In the 5000m, 44-year-old World Championship, Commonwealth and European medalist Jo Pavey is set to run her first track race of 2018. Her competition will include three-time Danish champion Simone Glad.

Norwegian distance runner Per Svela, who represented his country at the European Team Championships last summer is down for the 5000m. He has a recent PB in the event of 13:41 set in Oordegem in Belgium at the end of May.
