Olympic coach Toni Minichiello will head the line-up for the forthcoming scottishathletics National Coach Development weekend at the Emirates Arena on Saturday 22 March.
The UK Sport Performance Coach of the year, and coach to Olympic Champion Jessica Ennis-Hill, will be presenting on his coaching journey with Jess from a 13-year-old to London 2012 gold.
Additional keynote speakers will be announced in due course, focusing on the key areas of planning, technical development and conditioning of athletes. The conference on Saturday starts at 9.30am.
And our National Coach Development weekend will also incorporate event specific programmes at the Emirates on Sunday 23 March (with the exception of throws, which will be at Grangemouth).

‘We’re delighted to welcome a coach of the calibre of Toni to our Coach Development Weekend in March – following on from the work which has taken place in September and December,’ said scottishathletics Director of Coaching, Stephen Maguire.
‘The extent and quality of the coach development programme we now have in place each year is happening through the combined efforts of our performance and development teams – working together towards key common goals.
‘In view of that, we have reviewed our contribution and support for the International Festival of Athletics Coaching (IFAC).
‘This European Conference, run by the European Athletics Coaches Association, has delivered some excellent coach education over the years it has been hosted in Glasgow, and many Scottish coaches have been able to benefit.
‘We do, however, now have a variety of differing approaches to supporting and providing developmental learning experiences for Scottish coaches, and therefore now hope and expect that IFAC continues elsewhere in Europe – as always planned.’
