LANGFORD SLAMS KENYAN ATHLETE FOR ‘ROBBERY’
British 800m runner Kyle Langford has described being beaten by a Kenyan banned for doping offences as ‘robbery’.
Langford, 22, missed out on a medal at last year’s World Athletics Championships by four hundredths of a second to Kipyegon Bett, who has been banned until 2022, in a decision announced by the Athletics Integrity Unit. Read the full story.

LONDON MARATHON CASH OFFERED TO BRITISH RUNNERS
32 British endurance athletes including Alex Bell and Steph Twell have been offered funding by London Marathon Events Ltd, the organisers of the Virgin Money London Marathon to support them through 2019. The organisers have pledged a total of £350,000 in support, with £180,000 going towards British Athletics for their World Class Programme and towards high aptitude training camps.

MCCOLGAN CALLS FOR DETAIL ON SCOTTISH BREAKAWAY
Eilish McColgan says more detail is needed on a potential Scottish breakaway from the Great Britain team at European Championships in future. Last week, it was reported that Scottish Athletics was looking at creating more opportunities for its athletes to represent the country internationally, like they do at the Commonwealth Games. Eilish McColgan and Eilidh Doyle have both been quoted by BBC Sport in this article.
They both express pride in their Scottish roots, but exercise some caution, in wanting to be sure Scottish Athletics would have access to the same resources to provide the same high-level tournament preparation and support as British Athletics.
ROAD RELAY HOME LOOKS TO BE SAVED
Mansfield’s Berry Hill Park, the home of the Saucony English Cross Country Relays, looks to be saved following a productive council meeting. The Mansfield Chat reports that Mansfield District Council has agreed to maintain the park so that it can be enjoyed by the public, whilst options are considered to secure its long-term future.

2016 World Junior Champion sprinter Candace Hill has been talking about the pressures of being both a young college student and a rising star athlete.
