Olympic Heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has revealed that she will be set to return to Athletics after nearly two years out.
The Sheffield athlete will contest the 100m hurdles at the Great CityGames in Manchester on 9 May.
By no means has it been a relaxing two years for the British record holder. With the birth of her first son Reggie, getting married and having to deal with the Chernova doping scandal, Ennis-Hill has been kept truly busy.
Running a (former) British Record time and Olympic Heptathlon best of 12.54 for the 100m Hurdles in London 2012, it is without a doubt one of her strongest disciplines.

The last competitive appearance of Ennis-Hill was in the same event at the London Anniversary Games, where she finished fourth in a world-class field respectively.
Her comeback in May is all in preparation for her pursuit of a spot in Rio De Janeiro for the 2016 Olympics. However, with the likes of Katarina Johnson-Thompson – who is competing in the Long Jump and 200m at the Great CityGames – it won’t be as easy as 2012.
The two Brits are set for their first head-to-head later this year in Götzis, Austria, in what is set to be an enticing affair. After the Liverpudlian broke Ennis-Hill’s British Pentathlon record at the European indoor championships earlier this month, she (Johnson-Thompson) is perhaps the favourite of the two.
Despite 273 points separating their personal bests, a two-year break and an in-form Johnson-Thompson will make for a closer finish than expected.
