Jessica Ennis-Hill “couldn’t be happier” after giving birth to her baby boy yesterday.
The heptathlete star made the decision to sacrifice this year’s Commonwealth and European championships to start a family with her husband, Andy Hill, and yesterday (July 17) her nine-month journey came to an end.
Ennis-Hill tweeted a photo of her new-born – Reggie – in the early hours of the morning:

The 2012 Olympic gold medallist announced the news of her “unexpected” pregnancy earlier this year, and has every intention of returning to competition in the near future.
The 28-year-old will watch compatriot Katarina Johnson-Thompson fight for gold in Glasgow, but hopes to be back in contention herself by 2015 – on the road to her long-term goal of defending her Olympic crown.
Fellow athletes took to Twitter to congratulate Ennis-Hill on the birth of her baby boy:
@J_Ennis amazing, congrats to you and andy xxx
