The SPAR British Athletics Indoor Championships are live from Birmingham this weekend and you can follow the action from 12pm UK time on this page of runjumpthrow.com on Saturday and Sunday. Athletes will battle it out to be amongst the medals and guarantee their place in the Great Britain & Northern Ireland team at the European Indoor Championships in Glasgow next month.

After clocking 7.12 in Dortmund two weeks ago, Rio 2016 bronze medallist and defending champion Asha Phillip will take to the blocks in the 60m on Saturday. She’ll be up against European Championship semi-finalist Bianca Williams and also Welsh Champion over the 60m from just last month, Shannon Malone. Also featuring in the field is teenager Kristal Awuah, who clocked an impressive 7.19 in Berlin last weekend.

The men’s 60m field is equally exciting and features European silver medallist over the 200m, Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake. Alongside him is European Indoor Champion over the 60m from back in 2009 Dwain Chambers, at the ripe old age of 40.

On the field, the women’s long jump final looks set to impress, with reigning World and European Indoor Pentathlon Champion Katrina Johnson-Thompson listed, as well as Jazmin Sawyers, who placed 4that the European Championships in Berlin last August.

The men’s shot put includes an array of talent, including two time Paralympic and six-time world champion Aled Davies, off the back of his win at the Welsh Championships in Cardiff.

The 1500m certainly won’t disappoint either, especially as European Indoor Champion and World Indoor silver medallist Laura Muir will make her presence felt. Alongside her will be European silver medallist over the 5000m Elish McColgan.

Moving to the 5000m walk, with both fastest race walker in history Tom Bosworth and British outdoor bronze medallist Erika Kelly set to compete, the crowd are in for a superb weekend of track and field.
