Glasgow Diamond League ticket discount for scottishathletics members

In partnership with British Athletics, scottishathletics are offering a 10% discount on tickets for the Diamond League meeting at Hampden, Glasgow on July 11th and 12th, exclusively for scottishathletics members.

This weekend there will be a ‘priority sale period’ for all scottishathletics members. The sale will take place from 10am Friday to Sunday evening. Members of scottishathletics will receive an email with a code that they can on www.britishathletics.org.uk in order to purchase tickets.

There will be around 35,000 tickets sold for each day of the Glasgow Diamond League in July, with athletes such as Mo Farah, Christine Ohuruogu and Eilidh Child set to compete.

Chief Executive of scottishathletics, Nigel Holl, stated ‘‘I am very pleased indeed that we are able to offer our members a discount on tickets during a special priority period before the public sale for Hampden – it means so many of the people who are committed to athletics throughout the year can be at this great event.’ He also seems very pleased with the Scottish team’s performance in the Glasgow International this January – ‘We always knew 2014 would be a special year. It started with a ‘cracker’ when the Scotland Team performed so well in the Glasgow Indoor International in January – that really set the tone.’

The Diamond League will be the last major athletics event in Glasgow before the Commonwealth Games.

‘The Diamond League athletics is of course very different to a Championship such as the Commonwealth Games.  It is about the world’s best athletes performing – but as a one-off on a very exciting weekend. It means that this summer we will not only see the best Commonwealth athletes in Glasgow but also now those athletes from non-Commonwealth countries can come and experience the Hampden Roar, the Glasgow hospitality, the passion of the Scottish crowd,’ said Holl.

The event in July will be known as the Sainsbury’s Glasgow Grand Prix, supported by Sainsbury’s, EventScotland and Glasgow City Council.
