Reigning Olympic heptathlon champion Jessica Ennis-Hill has announced her 2014 World Cup predictions, placing England right in the mix.
Despite the nation’s dampened spirits of England’s chances, the 28-year-old has named Roy Hodgon’s squad as one of two teams who could win the title – the other being the host nation – Brazil.
England sit 28/1 to come away victorious on Paddy Power but, nevertheless, Ennis-Hill expects they, or Brazil, will come head-to-head with Germany in the final.
The heptathlete anticipates Argentine star Lionel Messi will scoop Player of the Tournament ahead of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Ronaldo won’t go home empty handed though, as Ennis-Hill forecasts he will claim the Golden Boot.
Undeterred by their 200/1 odds on Paddy Power, the 28-year-old has chosen Ghana to be this year’s surprise package of the competition.
