The second British Milers Club (BMC) Grand Prix of the season is coming to you live from Watford in London this Saturday.
5pm UK time is when the action kicks off with races from 800m up to 5,000m on the schedule and you’ll be able to watch it live right here.
Last time out at Sportcity in Manchester, 15-year-old Max Burgin managed a world age best of 1:47.50 for 800m, and there’s plenty more to get excited about ahead of Saturday’s meet.
This time the men’s 800 looks set to be a battle between 2010 European Athletics Championships silver medalist Michael Rimmer, Elliot Giles who has a bronze from the same event in 2016, and world indoor medalist Andrew Osagie.
As ever, there is an incredible amount of young talent on display. Mari Smith is in great form after two recent lifetime bests to become British Universities’ (BUCS) champion and win the Loughborough International Athletics meeting. Here she faces Alex Bell – who was just a tenth away from her first sub-two minute 800m run at the Commonwealth Games – along with Isabelle Boffey, Khahisa Mhlanga, Katie Snowden and Katy-Ann McDonald.
Our track and field streams have seen European under-20 1500m champion Jemma Reekie run separate 800m and 1500m personal bests over the last two weekends. This time she’ll be up against world semi-finalist Jess Judd over the longer distance.
On the men’s side, Great Britain senior internationals Tom Lancashire and Jonny Davies will have competition from the likes of juniors Archie Davis and Robbie Fitzgibbon, who were European under-20 and under-23 finalists respectively last summer.
Elsewhere, British steeplechase champion Iona Lake looks set to race for the first time since returning from the Gold Coast.
