If you missed this weekend’s coverage of the European Champion Clubs Cup from the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham or the British Milers Club Grand Prix from Watford, videos are now available on-demand to watch back as many times as you like on the coverage section of our website.

Let’s start with the ECCC – an annual contest between the continent’s top athletics clubs. Among the big names competing were world discus champion Andrius Gudzius, triple jumper Pedro Pablo Pichardo, European champions Yasmani Copello, Yasemin Can and Ivet Lalova-Collio.

The event featured separate men’s and women’s competitions in which athletes battled for maximum points to go towards an overall leaderboard. It ended up being incredibly close between Turkish side Enka and their Portuguese rivals. You can read full reports on the European Athletics website.

Being one of just two current triple jumpers to have cleared the magic 18 metre mark, Pedro Pablo Pichardo was always likely to rule over his rivals. The Sport Lisboa e Benfica man jumped twice with a best of 17.30m, although his first effort of 17.01m would also have secured maximum points.

Elsewhere in the field, the Lithuanian Gudzius, who won the IAAF World Championship London 2017 title by two centimetres last summer, was more dominant on British soil this time around. The 27-year-old set an ECCC Championship record in the discus of 67.82m, breaking a 29-year-old stadium record in the process.

There were some incredible finishes to many races on the track, and indeed the entire event with the 4x400m relays.

First, in the women’s competition, things went right down to the wire with Enka and Sporting Clube de Portugal both in with a chance of taking home the title.

Great excitement was to follow on the men’s side, with a fabulous performance by the Birchfield Harriers quartet in the men’s 4x400m. But nothing could match this incredible comeback by Slovenian side AK Slavia UK Bratislava, which astounded our commentator.

Turning attentions to Watford on Saturday evening, one of the highlights was undoubtedly Saturday evening’s run from Alex Bell, who managed her first ever sub-two minute clocking with a time of 1:59.93. It was also a record for a BMC women’s only race.

Afterwards, the delighted Pudsey and Bramley athlete gave her reflections on an outstanding race.

Moments later, another match-up between Commonwealth finalists and exciting young talent came to fruition in the women’s 1500m. An intense battle between Jessica Judd, Ciara Mageean, Jemma Reekie, Amy Griffiths and Amelia Quirk saw the reigning European bronze medalist Mageean take victory in 4:09.11.
