There is no denying the excitement that comes from seeing a top-quality women’s javelin final. Munich 2022 had just that.
The European Athletics Championships were guaranteed a new women’s European javelin champion and one athlete stepped up above all others. Elina Tzengko threw a personal best to win gold.
Her standout performance helped her to receive the 2022 Golden Tracks women’s Rising Star award.
The top three throws were:
Elina Tzengko (GRE) – 65.81m
Adriana Vilagoš (SRB) – 62.01m
Barbora Špotáková – (CZE) – 60.68m
