It has been a standout year for Mykolas Alekna. The Lithuanian discus star has had two medal successes in senior competitions.
He picked up silver in the World Championships followed by winning gold at the European Championships – the same title his father, Virgilijus Alekna, won in 2006.
It’s been incredible to see him become a top star and we are delighted to name Mykolas Alekna as the Men’s Rising Star for 2022.
