Three women successfully defended their European titles at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich.
Having won gold in Berlin, Laura Muir (1500m), Sanda Perkovic (discus) and Naif Thiam (heptathlon) returned to Germany four years on and won European gold again.
For Perkovic, it was her sixth successive gold medal in the discus having also claimed the title in 2010 (Barcelona), 2012 (Helsinki), 2014 (Zagreb), 2016 (Amsterdam), Berlin (2018) and now Munich (2022).
