It was a night to remember for Great Britain & Northern Ireland as they landed a 1-2 in the men’s 200m at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich.
The 100m silver medalist Hughes took gold ahead of teammate Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake in a season’s best 20.07s.
It was his first gold since the 100m title he won four years ago in Berlin, and adds to his 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medal. Italian Filippo Tortu claimed bronze in 20.27.
