The sensational action of Munich 2022 was back for another day. Day five of the European Athletics Championships delivered stunning athletics and heartwarming moments.
Karsten Warholm returned to the track and dominated the men’s 400m hurdles. While the women’s 400m hurdles were impressively won by Femke Bol.
Emotions were running high for new triple jump champion Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk-Romanchuk. Just 24 hours after heartbreak in the long jump final, the Ukrainian bested the competition to win gold. A proud moment for her and Ukraine.
The men’s discus final saw a new championship record set by Lithuania’s Mykolas Alekna. His father, Virgilijus Alekna won the same title in 2006.
