Winning European gold in the heptathlon is a fantastic achievement. Defending your title to win it a second time is outstanding. In 2006, Carolina Kluft did just that at the European Athletics Championships from Gothenburg.
The Swedish heptathlete (who was an Olympic champion) made home advantage count when it mattered most on course to winning back-to-back heptathlon titles.
Kluft’s performances were so strong that she set a brand new Championship Record – scoring 6740. See just how she did it as we keep on the road to Munich 2022.
